What is On Page SEO Audit API ?​

Page Structure​

Page Stucture enables you to understand the audited page. The API currently supports the following:

  • Canonical - The canonical URL of the page.
  • Title - The title of the page.
  • Description - The description of the page.
  • Images - The images present on the page with their alt text.
  • Links - The links present on the page with their anchor text and link type(Internal/External). It also returns the count for each link type and the total number of links.
  • Headings - The headings present on the page with their heading type(H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6). It also returns the count for each heading type.
  • Word Count - The total number of words present on the page.

Structured Data​

Structured Data enables you to understand the structured data present on the page. The API currently supports the following:

  • JSON-LD - The JSON-LD structured data present on the page AKA known as Schema.
  • Open Graph - The Facebook's Open Graph structured data present on the page.
  • Microdata - The Microdata structured data present on the page.
  • Microformats - The Microformats structured data present on the page.

Keyphrases​

Keyphrase enables you to understand the topics covered on the page. The API returns the phrase used and it's relevancy with the page.

Readability Analysis​

We use Flesch Reading Ease to calculate the readability score of the page. The score ranges from 0 to 100. The higher the score, the easier it is to read the content. We also return the result in plain text. Eg. 'Hard to read', 'Fairly difficult to read', 'Fairly easy to read', 'Easy to read', etc.

Instant SEO Audits​

Instant SEO Audits enables you to understand the SEO health of the page. The SEO audits are divided into 3 categories:

Errors​

Errors are the issues that need to be fixed immediately. The API currently supports the following:

  • multiple_h1 - The page contains more than one H1 tag.
  • missing_h1 - The page does not contain any H1 tag.
  • h2_without_h1 - The page contains H2 tag without H1 tag.
  • low_word_count - The page contains less than 200 words.
  • missing_title - The page does not contain any title.
  • no_links - The page does not contain any links.

Warnings​

Warnings are the issues that are not errors but should be addressed. The API currently supports the following:

  • missing_h2 - The page does not contain any H2 tag.
  • h3_without_h2 - The page contains H3 tag without H2 tag.
  • title_too_long - The title of the page is more than 70 characters.
  • missing_description - The page does not contain any description.
  • missing_description - The page does not contain any description.
  • description_too_long - The description of the page is more than 160 characters.
  • missing_canonical - The page does not contain any canonical tag.
  • no_internal_links - The page does not contain any internal links.

Notices​

Notices are low priority issues that are generally considered as good practices. The API currently supports the following:

  • missing_h3 - The page does not contain any H3 tag. Hence lacks a proper page structure.
  • h4_without_h3 - The page contains H4 tag without H3 tag and have broken page structure.
  • h5_without_h4 - The page contains H5 tag without H4 tag and have broken page structure.
  • h6_without_h5 - The page contains H6 tag without H5 tag and have broken page structure.
  • title_too_short - The title of the page is less than 20 characters.
  • description_too_short - The description of the page is less than 50 characters.
  • url_too_long - The URL of the page is more than 70 characters.
  • canonical_too_long - The canonical URL of the page is more than 70 characters.
  • no_images - The page does not contain any images.
  • missing_alt - The page contains images without alt text.
  • empty_alt - The page contains images with empty alt text.
  • no_external_links - The page does not contain any external links.
